Serah Makka is Executive Director for Africa at the ONE Campaign, where she leads high-impact advocacy to secure the investments that expand economic opportunity, strengthen health systems, and accelerate inclusive growth across Africa.
With more than two decades of experience spanning governance reform, development finance, and financial inclusion, Serah operates at the intersection of policy, power, and people. Her work across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East advance reforms that serve underserved communities.
She has mobilized large-scale civic engagement efforts and elevated African priorities in global decision-making spaces. Previously leading ONE’s Nigeria operations, in 2012, Serah was recognized as one of the Global Top 35 Under 35 in International Affairs for her contributions to global foreign policy. As an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow, she champions accountable leadership and systems change that deliver measurable impact.
Beyond her executive leadership, Serah teaches governance and civic participation at the Fix Politics School of Public Policy and Governance. She serves on the boards of Future Perspectives, Resilience Action Network Africa (RANA), and the Institute for Public Policy Research in the UK — institutions advancing policy reform, health equity, and democratic accountability.
Serah holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Florida and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
