ONE Hires Doug Anderson to lead US Government Relations
WASHINGTON – The ONE Campaign has hired Doug Anderson, former general counsel for the House Foreign Affairs Committee, as its Senior Director of US Government Relations.
Anderson worked for the committee for nearly 30 years, serving under nine different committee chairs. He joined in 1996 as Counsel to Rep. Chris Smith, (R-NJ) chairman of what was then known as the Subcommittee on International Operations and Human Rights.
“In an era of conflict and crisis, Doug’s rich Congressional experience is an incredible asset to ONE’s efforts to promote healthy lives and economic opportunities in Africa, as well as a testament to his commitment to strengthening US relationships with global partners,” said Elizabeth Hoffman, Executive Director for North America at the ONE Campaign. “Global crises require global solutions. As ONE works to ensure Africa plays an equal part on the search for solutions, we’re lucky to have Doug on our team.”
“I am so grateful for my time on the Committee and to have been a part – alongside my capable colleagues – of so much progress throughout the last 29 years,” said Doug Anderson. “I look forward to working with the ONE team to unlock new opportunities to promote human dignity and maintain the powerful American legacy of global leadership in the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease.”
