ONE Statement on Injustice and Inequality in the U.S.

WASHINGTON — Gayle Smith, president and CEO of The ONE Campaign issued the below statement today on the events in the U.S. this past week.

Gayle Smith, president and CEO of The ONE Campaign:

“The call for justice for George Floyd is the call for justice for too many black men and women over too many years. His killing has laid bare the injustice and inequality that are still at play in the most powerful country in the world. The coronavirus pandemic has further exposed the undeniable inequities that Black Americans face across the United States.

“The ONE Campaign was founded on the belief that people can and should raise their voices, take action to foster change, and hold leaders accountable. We believe that none of us are equal until all of us are equal, everywhere in the world. We must work together to achieve that reality in America, and across the globe.”
