Being a ONE Youth Ambassador presents many opportunities to engage in global activism and grow both professionally and personally. But how does one‘s time at ONE impact their lives when it‘s over?
David Reviriego, a former ONE Youth Ambassador from France who‘s recently completed his time with ONE, is sharing how being a part of ONE has helped him move forward in life.
Here’s what he had to say.
What are you doing now?
I‘m studying communications in a top communications school and currently doing an internship in the Cabinet of the French Minister of Public Sector, Transformation and the Civil Service with her communication advisor.
I‘m also working on getting my diploma and finding where I want to work after my graduation.
How has ONE supported you to get to where you are today?
During my three years of engagement with ONE, I did plenty of advocacy with French leaders, public mobilization, or media interviews. It was as thrilling as it was informative. I‘ve acquired skills I can still count on today, such as public speaking or persuasion.
Moreover, these skills are worth millions on my resume! They helped me get where I am today.
What did you accomplish while being a ONE Youth Ambassador?
During my years as a Youth Ambassador, I met several decision-makers. In 2019, for International Women‘s Day, the French government created a prize in memory of Simone Veil to honour women’s rights activists, and I was lucky enough to attend the ceremony at the Elyse Palace and meet President Emmanuel Macron along with his wife, Brigitte Macron.

I also went twice to the European Parliament in Brussels to convince MEPs to increase the share of international aid allocated in the European budget for 2021-2027. Finally, I participated in two Lobby Days in France and met more than 20 MPs in order to get France to accelerate its trajectory to reach the target of making 0.7% of our national revenue dedicated to official development assistance (ODA).
Is there anything else you‘d like to share about your time at ONE?
