ONE Youth Ambassadors are a dedicated team of volunteers who electrify ONE’s campaigns across Europe. They engage decision makers, work with the media to raise the profile of ONE’s campaigns, and encourage the public to sign ONE petitions through online activity and local events.
My name is Héma and I’m 21 years old. I am studying for a European law Masters’ degree in La Sorbonne.
I am passionate about human rights and gender-related issues and I believe extreme poverty and development are not isolated issues that only concern a part of the world but they are global ones that concern all of us.
I joined ONE as a Youth Ambassador as we share the same beliefs and as this program represents a young, dynamic platform which allows us to amplify the voices of people around the world.
My name is Hugo, I’m 24 years old and I live in Lyon where I am working towards a Masters degree in Educational Science.
Deeply concerned by the educational field, I also volunteer for other organisations, some of which focus on helping migrants and long-term unemployed people reintegrate socially and professionally.
I have decided to campaign with ONE to help and to use my voice for a better world, trying to fight against poverty and inequalities in the world. I truly want to raise awareness and to commit to the fight for education which is essential to build the future.
My name is Julia, I’m 18 years old and am a first year European Studies student.
Born in the Netherlands, I had the opportunity to receive an education. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone in the world, and certainly not for many girls. I believe that the place where you are born should not define the chances you get in life.
As a Youth Ambassador, I have the opportunity to change things by joining forces with ONE to fight against extreme poverty and social inequality. I am excited to grab this chance with both hands!
My name is Riccardo and I am a 19-year-old Youth Ambassador from Italy.
I began to work as a youth facilitator but I still felt like I wasn’t doing enough. Some months ago, ONE chose me as a Youth Ambassador and provided me with the possibility of doing something concrete and now I feel that I’m able to have an impact on society around me.
I want to reach a high number of students and young people in order to raise awareness about global themes and objectives that we need to pursue together.
I’m Emily and I am a Youth Ambassador for ONE in Ireland.
As a current masters student in international development, I have gained useful insights into issues such as women’s economic empowerment and improving global responses to preventable diseases.
Being a Youth Ambassador with ONE Campaign has provided me with a valuable opportunity to translate these insights into tangible actions, from lobbying MPs for policy and financial commitments to delivering the Poverty is Sexist petition to 10 Downing Street.
Since becoming a Youth Ambassador I’ve realised how important it is to educate others and raise awareness of the issues that many around the world are facing. There is so much we can do from our own countries that can encourage real change – from simply talking to people about the Poverty is Sexist campaign to putting pressure on elected representatives you are inspiring others to lend their voice.
In order to change the world there really is strength in numbers!
