ONE in the Nordics

The Nordic countries have established themselves as key voices and actors in the field of international development. Here, the ONE Campaign focuses on the advancement of global health innovations and investments to improve outcomes for women and children across Africa. To achieve this, we promote partnership, as well as the recognition and improvement of local capacities in addition to widespread medical innovations. 

Our core priorities include: 

• Defend Official Development Aid volumes and quality: by ensuring that ODA is seen as a strategic investment in the future, as well as in securing stability for the Nordic Countries.
• Securing Nordic leadership on global health: by advocating for sustained ambitious Nordic commitments to multilateral life-saving initiatives, including Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as well as collaborating with our partners in the fight against pandemics and preventable diseases. Additionally, the ONE Campaign supports a strong Nordic leadership in the financing of and reforms in health systems.
• Strengthening health security and systems: the ONE Campaign Strengthens health security and systems by promoting investments in essential, resilient health systems and services to protect both global and Nordic interests.

At ONE Nordics, we work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders from the public and private sphere to advocate and campaign for a fairer, healthier world remains high in the agenda of the Nordic governments while promoting and encouraging collaboration between these nations to campaign for fair, healthier lives in Africa. 

The team at ONE Campaign Nordics works with partners, stakeholders and activists throughout the region, including those involved in ONE’s Youth Ambassador program. This Flagship initiative has created a network of over 300 young activists across Europe and the United Kingdom who amplify ONE’s campaigns and core principles through locally based activism. In addition to our activism networks, the ONE Campaign recognizes and seeks to utilize public pressure by turning it into tangible action.
