ONE Statement on UK Co-Hosting 8th Global Fund Replenishment

LONDON – Today, the United Kingdom announced that it would serve as co-host with South Africa for the 8th replenishment for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria. In reaction, The ONE Campaign released the following statement.

“This is great news. By joining South Africa in this effort, the UK will help drive bold investments that save lives, strengthen health systems, and build a healthier, more resilient future for all,” said Adrian Lovett, UK Executive Director, ONE. “That’s life-changing for some of the world’s most vulnerable people and it’s a smart investment for the UK too. True leadership is measured by the impact it will have on future generations, and UK leadership and strong investment are crucial to creating a world where AIDS, TB, and malaria are no longer a threat. We look to the UK to follow through on its leadership with a strong financial commitment to the Global Fund, building on its previous support.”
