Emily Wigens is ONE’s European Union (EU) Director, overseeing ONE’s work on EU processes in Brussels and key EU capitals. Emily joined ONE in 2014 and has led ONE’s engagement with multiple governments across a number of global processes, including the G7 and G20 and EU legislative processes. She helped secure millions of dollars in funding for multilateral mechanisms, including Gavi, the Global Fund and the Global Partnership for Education.
Prior to joining ONE, Emily worked on political campaigns around the UK’s 2010 general election. In the European Parliament, she was part of a team drafting and negotiating EU transparency legislation for the extractive and logging industries to help fight corruption and ensure more money from oil and gas revenues in Africa is used to fight poverty.
