Why become a ONE Global Activist?

As a ONE Global Activist, you will impact your community, country and the world on key issues in Africa, backed by a highly-visible, mission-driven ONE network. You will get trained how to campaign, lobby decision makers, and engage the media in a compelling way, then put those skills into practice at ONE events and meetings with high-level decision makers. You will have a chance to follow through on a decision-making outcome until achieved.

How does the recruitment process work?

Is there an age limit for becoming a ONE Global Activist?

No, everyone is welcome!

How long can I serve as a ONE Global Activist?

1 year with opportunity to renew annually.

Who can become a ONE Global Activist?

To become a ONE Global Activist, you must have the following attributes:

  • Passion for creating change.
  • Interest in engaging policymakers on the most pressing issues facing Africa.  
  • Willingness to dedicate some time to raise awareness and mobilize different people to support ONE’s initiatives.

What kind of work am I expected to do as a ONE Global Activist?

  • Take high impact action 1-2 times per month by writing letters, delivering petition signatures from ONE supporters to local MP offices, submitting Letters to the Editor, calling elected officials, and posting on social media.
  • Sit down (virtually or in person) with your MP and/or their staff, under the mentorship of Campaigns Manager.
  • Connect with ONE staff and activists from across the country on monthly virtual national training calls, global health and foreign assistance news, and skill-building sessions.
  • Attend in-person events in your city as you are able.

How many times per year do ONE Global Activists meet?

Once a month virtually and events-based in person.

How much time should I dedicate to the program per month?

3-8 hours per month.

What are the benefits of becoming a Global Activist?
