The Annual Review summarizes our key achievements and impact. 2022 began with the prospect that, with the right steps, the world could create a global recovery that would enable all countries to rebuild after two years of the pandemic and its devastating economic aftershocks.
Instead, conflict, COVID-19, the climate crisis, and economic turmoil threatened our future security and hopes of progress and prosperity. In response to these harsh realities, ONE doubled down our fight against poverty and preventable diseases, campaigning for leaders to step up. We asked them to fully fund the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. We exposed the systemic injustices that characterizes the global COVID-19 response. And we worked to hold leaders accountable for healthcare in Nigeria.
Highlights of the year include launching a summer of action with activists calling on leaders to rewrite the future; campaigning across North America, Europe, and Africa for the replenishment of the Global Fund and securing a record breaking $15.7 billion in funding; and unveiling ONE’s #JobsNowAfrica campaign to mobilize 1 million youth voices calling more job creation across Africa. The Annual Review also includes our 2022 calendar, where we provide a snapshot of the key highlights over the past year.
