As the effects of COVID-19 continue to evolve, our ONE team understands that this is a challenging and difficult time, and we are thinking of you all. This pandemic is affecting both our local neighborhoods and our global community in an unprecedented way.<\/p>\n

As we adjust to this temporary reality, these unsettling times remind us why our mission is so important. As we\u2019ve painfully seen with COVID-19, diseases don\u2019t respect borders and the need for collective action on global health security has never been greater. We believe it\u2019s more important than ever to stand together as a global community. International solidarity and unity are needed to win this fight.<\/p>\n

As a movement dedicated to fighting extreme poverty and preventable disease, we are uniquely positioned to make an impact aginst COVID-19\u2019s devastating effects around the world, thanks to incredible supporters like you. In the coming days and weeks, we will update you on ways you can use your voice \u2014 from home \u2014 to ensure that all of us around the world are safe and secure from this virus. As we continue to work toward our mission, we want you to know that we are here for as much or as little as you are able or want to engage with us.<\/p>\n

Stories of hope from our community<\/h3>\n

We asked ONE\u2019s global community for their stories of hope and solidarity.<\/a> Here are two from our community.<\/span><\/p>\n

As an urgent care physician, I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends and neighbors. One of them is a very talented seamstress and she has made dozens of very high quality masks for our clinic and our patients. In times of crisis, it is wonderful to see how many people reach out and serve. <\/em>

Our church has stopped meeting publicly and has gone to all online ministry. What I am learning is that \u201csocial distancing\u201d is not how we were created. We were created for social intimacy. So, I use my phone as an actual phone now, more than ever before, to call some of our shut-ins, elderly, and ill who might be feeling scared and anxious during these days. We need each other.<\/em>
