So we thought it appropriate to look back at some of our favorite global campaigns that prove that women totally rock. And most importantly \u2013 they show how important it is to invest in girls and women around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-likeagirl\">1. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.always.com\/en-us\/likeagirl.aspx\">#LikeAGirl<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ever been told you do something like a girl? Always understands how hard it can be to grow up, so to support confidence in young girls and beyond, they\u2019ve launched #LikeAGirl. People can help make sure that girls all over the world keep their confidence by showing them that doing things #LikeAGirl is a really AWESOME thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-this-girl-can\">2. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisgirlcan.co.uk\/\">This Girl Can<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched by Sport England, This Girl Can celebrates active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it or how they look doing it. The campaign aims to inspire women and to prove that even judgment can be overcome. My favorite part? Nothing, not even sweat, can stand in their way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-half-the-sky\">3. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.halftheskymovement.org\/\">Half the Sky<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Half the Sky Movement is working to put an end to the oppression of women and girls all around the world. Based off of the book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, the movement raises&nbsp;awareness of women\u2019s issues and also provides concrete steps to fight for women. We are all a part of the solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-notbuyingit\">4. <a href=\"http:\/\/therepresentationproject.org\/take-action\/not-buying-it\/\">#NotBuyingIt<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote twitter-tweet is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SInow\">@SInow<\/a> gives us teachable moments with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SISwim?src=hash\">#SISwim<\/a> cover <a href=\"http:\/\/t.co\/JFabdlwvhv\">http:\/\/t.co\/JFabdlwvhv<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/notbuyingit?src=hash\">#notbuyingit<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 elucas (@elucas25) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elucas25\/status\/570262743275708417\">February 24, 2015<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote twitter-tweet is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Love <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mindykaling\">@mindykaling<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AmericanExpress\">@AmericanExpress<\/a> ad saying women in Hollywood didn\u2019t used to look like her, until she made a difference. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MediaWeLike?src=hash\">#MediaWeLike<\/a> \u2014 Miss Representation (@RepresentPledge) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepresentPledge\/status\/569678326274482176\">February 23, 2015<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Representation Project launched the #NotBuyingIt campaign to call out sexism in the media. This campaign&nbsp;provided a platform for consumers to target different media outlets that they believed enforced negative gender stereotypes. On the flipside of the issue, they also launched #MediaWeLike, allowing&nbsp;people to share&nbsp;positive media that celebrates girls and women. The ultimate goal of The Representation Project is to challenge and overcome gender&nbsp;stereotypes so that everyone can fulfill their potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-make-yourself\">5. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.nike.com\/news\/nike-make-yourself-team\">Make Yourself<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspiration meets aspiration in Nike\u2019s Make Yourself campaign. Featuring elite female athletes, such as Allyson Felix, Li Na and Hope Solo, these women show that with hard work and dedication, anyone \u2013 regardless of their gender \u2013 can overcome obstacles to improve their lives and achieve their dreams. Throughout the campaign, these women shared their own stories and goals to encourage women worldwide to stand their ground and to \u201cmake themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-6-women-should\">6. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unwomen.org\/en\/news\/stories\/2013\/10\/women-should-ads\">Women Should<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Google\u2019s search autocomplete feature can be quite useful. But when it comes to women\u2019s rights, who knew such results would be suggested? UN Women used actual Google searches to highlight the widespread prevalence of sexism and discrimination against women, creating the #WomenShould campaign with Memac Ogilvy and Mather Dubai to generate conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-7-i-will-what-i-want\">7.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.underarmour.com\/en-us\/iwillwhatiwant\"> I Will What I Want<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under Armour celebrates women through the I Will What I Want campaign \u2013 reminding you that when you have will, you don\u2019t need permission, advice or affirmation to do or be what you want. It\u2019s a great reminder that if you set your mind to it, you can achieve it and don\u2019t let anyone tell you no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-8-nbsp-speak-beautiful\">8.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/time.com\/3714846\/dove-twitter-oscars-ad\/\">Speak Beautiful<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ve brought us beauty products for years, but now, Dove is teaming up with Twitter to merge beauty with social change. Through the Speak Beautiful campaign, Dove aims to change the way we talk about beauty on social media \u2013 replacing negative comments with positivity. It all begins with one simple tweet\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-9-nbsp-askhermore\">9.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/college.usatoday.com\/2015\/02\/23\/the-5-best-askhermore-tweets-from-the-2015-academy-awards\/\">#AskHerMore<\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"buffer\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By&nbsp;unlocking the full potential of girls and women around the world, extreme poverty could be ended for good.
