ONE members are literally taking their message to the streets this week as leaders of the industrialized world \u2013 the Group of Eight –descend on the Washington, D.C. area to attend the G8 Summit at Camp David in Maryland, hosted by President Obama.<\/p>\n

As part of the lead-up to the G8 gathering, thousands of ONE members have sent Twitter messages to world leaders, urging them to take bold action to break the cycle of extreme poverty and hunger.<\/p>\n

Many of these tweets will be emblazoned onto streets in DC and around Camp David thanks to the\u00a0ONE Street Tweeter<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 an innovative trailer-mounted robot that works like a gigantic ink-jet printer by pneumatically spraying washable, non-toxic paint onto road surfaces.<\/p>\n

The messages call on the G8 to deliver an ambitious and practical new global food security framework that can lift 50 million people out of poverty and prevent stunting in more than 15 million children due to chronic malnutrition. Examples of recent tweets from ONE members:<\/p>\n
