WASHINGTON \u2013 The ONE Campaign released the following statement on the Congressional passage of a national security supplemental, which includes more than $9.2 billion in humanitarian and food assistance funding to respond to urgent crises around the world, including the African continent. The bill has been sent to President Biden\u2019s desk for signature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill also includes $250 million for the World Bank\u2019s International Development Association\u2019s (IDA) Crisis Response Window, which provides the zero-to-low-cost-lending organization additional capacity to respond to severe natural disasters, public health emergencies, or economic crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe commend Congress for its bipartisan support of these funds at this critical time,\u201d said Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, President and CEO of The ONE Campaign<\/strong>. \u201cAs the world confronts multiple, complex global conflicts \u2013 and the human suffering that inevitably follows in their wake \u2013 it is a welcome step to see the US meet the moment in providing robust humanitarian funding to help those around the world in severe need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are also pleased to see funds included for the IDA Crisis Response Window \u2013 another critical tool that can help shift countries out of crisis and onto the path of development and growth. We will work with Congress to continue its support for IDA during its replenishment later this year.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
