WASHINGTON \u2013 The ONE Campaign released the following statement in response to the House\u2019s plans to vote on the FY 2024 State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs appropriations bill and a list of troubling amendments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the most reckless proposed amendments would decimate \u2013 or eliminate entirely \u2013 funding for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and their core accounts, as well as contributions for entities like the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current House bill, if enacted with the Manager\u2019s Amendment passed as part of the rule on Tuesday, would cut funding for foreign aid by 15% compared to FY23, which would be disastrous for US leadership abroad and for US national and economic security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
