WASHINGTON \u2014 The ONE Campaign issued the below statement following reports<\/a> that President Joe Biden intends to re-engage the World Health Organization, a move that reverses former President Donald Trump\u2019s efforts to terminate the longstanding US relationship with the WHO amid a global pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a strong signal of the Biden administration\u2019s commitment to fighting this global pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re glad the Biden administration will re-engage and strengthen the WHO instead of abandoning it. While imperfect, the WHO remains one of the best tools the world has to extinguish this global pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn order to end this crisis at home and abroad, it\u2019s imperative that the Biden administration and Congress work together immediately to support additional resources for the global response to COVID-19.\u201d<\/p>\n
