U.S. Senators Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) introduced the legislation yesterday with Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), and Bob Casey (D-Pa.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tom Hart, the North America executive director for The ONE Campaign, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u201cIt\u2019s not enough for America\u2019s foreign-assistance investments to be well-funded. They also need to be well-managed and well-executed. That\u2019s why ONE not only welcomes this bill, but embraces it. Congress should constantly be looking for ways to do the most good with every dollar invested. That process should start with good information \u2014 clear metrics, trusted data, and unbiased analysis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u201cMultilateral aid institutions are frequently more efficient than bilateral institutions, can be helpful in the coordination of activities, and often leverage U.S. funds to attract other investments. We need to invest in the multilateral institutions that are working well, and insist on improvements from the ones that aren\u2019t.
