WASHINGTON \u2014 The ONE Campaign is delighted to welcome Caterpillar Foundation President Michele Sullivan to its Board of Directors. Joining ONE co-founder Bono and a distinguished group of more than a dozen leaders from business, government, and the non-profit community, Sullivan will help ONE in its mission to end extreme poverty and stop the spread of preventable disease.<\/span><\/p>\n

ONE President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Elliott <\/b>said:<\/span><\/p>\n

Michele brings a unique perspective to ONE, particularly with the Caterpillar Foundation\u2019s launch of \u2018Together.Stronger.\u2019 \u2013 a collaborative impact platform uniting businesses, non-profits, governments and citizens to work together to create sustainable progress for all. Michele and the Caterpillar Foundation have been wonderful supporters of our work, including on the passage of legislation in the U.S. Congress earlier this year to help bring electricity access to 50 million people in sub-Saharan Africa, and in the call to world leaders to put girls and women at the heart of the new Global Goals. Caterpillar Foundation President Michele Sullivan<\/b> said:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m honored to join the ONE Board of Directors and look forward to continuing to advance the organization\u2019s mission to end extreme poverty. No one group or individual can accomplish this alone, and ONE understands when we work together, we are stronger.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sullivan took over leadership of the Caterpillar Foundation in late 2011. During her tenure, the Foundation has grown from transactional to global and strategic, shifting to a focus on Corporate Social Innovation. This strategy places the human need first, not as an afterthought of profit. The Foundation has also begun to focus on policy work as Sullivan and her team believe sustainable changes in policy are necessary to making real change happen.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sullivan joined Caterpillar in 1988.\u00a0 She has held various leadership positions inside the company and with outside organizations over the years and recently served as a U.S. delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Sullivan currently chairs the Greater Peoria Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Advisory Board. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree and a master\u2019s degree in Business Administration from Bradley University.<\/span><\/p>\n
