ONE is seeking a part-time UK-based consultant with excellent communication skills and media connections to identify and seize opportunities to place policy-focused content. This project is slated for roughly 6 months.


  • Build and manage relationships with policy-focused journalists in the UK and US, and pitch and seize opportunities to place data and insights into global news publications.
  • Stay abreast of news and trends and identify opportunities to pitch relevant content to the media.
  • Proactively develop policy insights using ONE’s data and intelligence, write them up and pitch them to journalists and other relevant influencers for inclusion in publications, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Work with the Global Policy & Strategy Team and ONE media managers to oversee and coordinate requests for policy-related content for media and communications, and strategically place media content in support of our strategy.  


  • An established, robust media network
  • An entrepreneurial and opportunistic mindset, aka a knack for spotting and seizing media opportunities
  • A general understanding of policy issues related to international development
  • Creativity in transforming “boring” stats and policy content into headline news
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude


Fluency in English required. Fluency in French or German a plus.
