ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Campaigns & Mobilization Officer will provide support to the management of ONE’s online and offline campaigns in Francophone Africa.

The position would suit a self-starter with at least 4 years of experience in campaigning and a track record of delivering in a fast-paced environment. They will have experience of both online and offline campaigning, website management, and of social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, project management experience, and a demonstrable commitment to ONE’s mission.  This is a full-time position reporting to the Francophone Africa Director with a dotted line to Africa Campaign Director and will be based in Dakar, Senegal.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Develop, execute, monitor, and evaluate campaigns and public engagement plans and activities of ONE and partners working in collaboration with relevant Francophone Africa, African, and global team members
  • Work with the Africa marketing and campaigns teams to coordinate and draft campaign messages and materials that encourage people to get involved and take action, and improve engagement.
  • In liaison with the Media and Communication Officer, Locate and secure talent and resources for campaign activities.
  • Work closely with the Francophone Media and Communication Officer and other francophone colleagues across ONE to build pages, actions, and supporter emails using WordPress and ONE’s online organizing and advocacy system ActionKit
  • Work closely with the Multilingual Campaigns Coordinator (Global Campaigns) to apply supporter engagement best practices and develop compelling supporter journeys.
  • Lead the creation of French campaign copy and assets for use across Francophone countries.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, capacity building, and day-to-day management of the ONE Champions and supporter's programs across Francophone Africa, working with other African and global colleagues.
  • Support ONE prospective supporterrecruitment via digital and mobile channels
  • Provide support to ONE Africa Campaigns Director and ONE Africa Digital manager in the creation of relevant campaign messages and content
  • Work with the Africa Digital Coordinator and the Global Digital Team to plan and analyze digital engagement and provide reports to Francophone Africa and other Pan Africa team members
  • Develop, manage and support campaigns (online and offline) with ONE’s supporters and activists in collaboration with Africa and Global Teams.
  • Any other duties as appropriate to the role

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in social science, humanities, marketing, communications or a media-related field is preferred.
  • At least 4+ relevant professional experience supporting online and offline campaigns
  • Fluent in French with a good command of English
  • Experience using digital and social media platforms to support campaigning efforts
  • Experience of managing websites via a Content Management Systems such as WordPress and sending emails via an email marketing platform
  • Experience of running digital advertising on Facebook and other social media platforms
  • Experience with supporter recruitment
  • Experience working with young people and volunteers
