Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc. that has raised over $1 BILLION for children and communities in need over the last 25 years. In the UK, it’s become a cultural phenomenon where people across the country come together to have fun, raise money, and change lives.
It launched here in the US in 2015, and now… it’s back!
From now until June 15th, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will match every dollar raised on Facebook for Red Nose Day up to $1 million dollars. This includes money raised through Facebook fundraising, and through donate buttons for Red Nose Day.
And don’t forget to watch NBC’s annual Red Nose Day night on May 25. It all starts with special celebrity-packed Red Nose Day editions of American Ninja Warrior and Running Wild with Bear Grylls, followed by the Red Nose Day Special, which will include the Love Actually cast reunion!
The money raised by Red Nose Day benefits children in some of the neediest communities in the U.S. and some of the poorest communities in the world. Partner charities include Boys & Girls Clubs of America; charity: water; Children’s Health Fund; Covenant House; Feeding America; Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; National Council of La Raza; Save the Children; and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS/HIV, Malaria, and Tuberculosis.
