Remember Jonathan?
He’s a teacher from Oneida, Kentucky, and he’s passionate about defending foreign aid. Why? Just watch this video:
As part of his advocacy, Jonathan wanted to gather names on a petition, then take them to a meeting with Rep. Hal Rogers, the Republican representative for Kentucky’s fifth congressional district.
And last week, Jonathan made it happen! He sat down with Rep. Rogers to discuss the value of aid on July 7. And he had some backup: In fact, 111,875 of you stood with Jonathan and signed the petition opposing any cuts to foreign aid.

Jonathan, left, and Rep. Rogers.
Jonathan was able to talk with Congressman Rogers about why fully funding foreign aid is the right thing to do for next year’s budget. Foreign aid is currently less than 1% of the budget. And that little amount means a great deal. It means girls can go to school. Kids can get vaccines. And millions suffering from famine can get life-saving food aid.
It happened! Jonathan was able to meet with his representative last week about the importance of the foreign aid budget. #DefendAid pic.twitter.com/2fgZt179wM
