In 2014, the outbreak of Ebola highlighted the need for additional health workers in West Africa and across the developing world. It is currently projected that by 2035, there will be a global deficit of 12.9 million skilled doctors, midwives and nurses. As the 2015 Sustainable Development Goals are finalized, we have the opportunity to improve the availability of health workers to the people who need them most.
