Danai Gurira and Trevor Noah discuss #PassTheMic & the need for a global COVID-19 response

Listen to the experts. That’s the message actress and ONE champion Danai Gurira shared when she joined The Daily Show with Trevor Noah to discuss ONE’s #PassTheMic campaign, and the need for global cooperation to fight the coronavirus.

Danai and over 40 other celebrities participated in the participated in the #PassTheMic campaign, which featured celebrities from across the world turning over their social media platforms to experts to highlight the need for a global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When discussing her experience with #PassTheMic, Danai emphasized the importance of listening to experts, “The way in which I have found some sanity in this time is to hear from those on the front lines who have a wisdom and a clarity on where we are and how we move forward.”

With over 14 million confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide, the need for a global response has never been stronger.

“No one is safe until everyone is safe, and I don’t think that is always how we think,” Danai explained in her interview. “It is always, ‘this is our country and these are our borders,’ but that is not how we are going to get through this.” A global pandemic requires a global response.
