Every girl counts.

130 million girls don’t have access to an education. So we’re asking the world to count them, one by one.

130 million girls around the world are out of school. That’s a big number. But this isn’t about numbers: It’s about real girls with hopes and dreams being denied the fair chance of a future.

So on March 8—International Women’s Day—we’re going to make the world pay attention to these girls by counting them. One by one, out loud, all the way to 130 million. One number for every girl denied an education.

If one person did this alone it would take them years, so we’ve asked activists, politicians, and leaders around the world to help us spread the word. Watch their videos below to see which number they picked and why they’re supporting girls’ education:
