6 lessons to live by from ONE Moms

This weekend is Mother’s Day – a time to celebrate the amazing women who guide, nurture, and, every once in a while, provide some tough love. We asked our rock star ONE Moms to share the advice they would give to their daughter, or another important girl in their life, and what advice they received from their mothers.

Wendi Aarons words of wisdom to young girls is something we can all take to heart.

Heather Barmore says that her mother was “big on words and writing and quickly taught me that they have power.” Her advice to all girls is to use her words and her voice because they always have value. “They truly are powerful.”

Aimee Giese‘s advice is something I will always keep in mind.

[email protected] Champion and ONE Mom Cynthia Changyit Levin wanted to share her mom’s wisdom and offer some of her own. She said, “Pace yourself — it’s becoming a life motto for me and I’m teaching it to my girls as they train for running and just get much busier in life.”

Levin says her own mom gave the following advice “every time we left the house when we were teenagers. My sister and I later made T-shirts that say that, and I wear it when I chaperone field trips!”

Photographer Karen Walrond told her child to always remember this advice.
