Update 3/20/2014, 5:20 p.m.: The results are in from our fashionABLE scarf competition and the winner is… the Rita Scarf in midnight blue and ivory, with 53 percent of the votes! This is one addition to your spring/summer wardrobe that you can be extra proud of. Can’t wait to get your hands on a beautiful fashionABLE scarf? Shop the winning scarves from our fall competition (available in blue or orange) online and stay tuned: our new scarf will be live for sale in the ONE store in early June.

In honor of International Women’s Day, we have some exciting news to share about our most recent collaboration with fashionABLE!

Our next scarf, exclusive to ONE, is on the way, but first, we need your help! Choose your favorite style and color combination from the four options below. The winning scarf will be for sale online at the ONE store in early June.

Each style is named after the woman who made it by hand and comes with a personalized note about how having a reliable job and income has changed her life.

Frehiwot, the style above in shades of green (pictured on the left), was once forced to beg in the streets for food to feed her children. She is so excited to work at fashionABLE and have the opportunity to provide her children with a safe and loving home.

Alem, the two colorblock styles (pictured in the middle) are named after a woman who, like many others at fashionABLE, is able to nourish and care for her children in a way that every mother wants to be able to do.

Rita, the Grecian-inspired scarf (pictured on the right) in midnight blue and ivory, is inspired by the strong, independent women that work at fashionABLE. Having recently returned to work after staying at home to care for her children, she is proud that fashionABLE has allowed so many women to provide and support their families.

Voting for this is now closed.

The winning scarf will be the most recent one to join our longstanding partnership with fashionABLE.

As part of our work to end extreme global poverty by 2030, we are serious about supporting social enterprises that enable trade and business development across the African continent. No matter which scarf you choose, your purchase will do a world of good by supporting jobs for women who might otherwise be without work.

The winning scarves from our fall competition (available in blue or orange) are still available online, in case you want to start a collection of beautiful fashionABLE scarves. I know that I already have!  Shop them in the ONE store here.
