OR Food Bank (assembly line)
What do 8,400 pounds of food, 6,462 meals and 33,600 servings equal?

The amount of food that ONE volunteers recently packed for the hungry in Oregon and Southwest Washington in just 1.5 hours! In fact, our volunteer efforts at the Oregon Food Bank resulted in net output of 100 pounds of food per volunteer.

ONE members fight hunger globally every day. They are well aware of the importance of preserving cost-effective, results-driven programs that fight the root causes of world hunger. Through the Oregon Food Bank effort, we were able to achieve this on a local level.

OR Food Bank Volunteers
The event was a milestone because it was the first-ever ONE event hosted by our newly active membership in Oregon! Volunteers worked at an astonishing pace to fill bags and load pallets with pasta. While working elbow to elbow (pasta pun intended), members from across the area had an opportunity to connect with one another.

As a local non-profit, the Oregon Food Bank has been fighting hunger in Oregon and Clark County, Washington, for more than 30 years. The Oregon Food Bank is a nonprofit, charitable organization that works holistically to help low-income families alleviate hunger. ONE developed a partnership with the Oregon Food Bank in the fall of 2010, and is proud to support this renowned organization.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for providing critical assistance to recipients of the Oregon Food Bank!

-Carolyn Barber, ONE Congressional District leader for Oregon’s 1st District
