ONE responds to the European Elections:

Adrian Lovett, Europe Executive Director of ONE, said:

“What millions of Europe’s citizens want now is for their MEPS to fight extreme poverty beyond Europe’s borders, as well as addressing pressing needs here at home.

“Thanks to the work of ONE’s Youth Ambassadors and members across the continent, leaders of every mainstream political group contesting this election have signed our ONE VOTE 2014 pledge.  In a Europe of diverse political views, ending extreme poverty is ONE thing we can all agree on.

“The new European Parliament has a golden opportunity to make real progress towards this goal, and help developing countries to lift themselves out of poverty.  This can only happen if Europe steps up its efforts to clamp down on corruption and to invest in Africa’s agriculture and health. I urge MEPs to join their leaders in declaring their support.”
