Oulie Keita is ONE’s Francophone West Africa Director. She leads the development and implementation of ONE’s Africa strategy in Francophone Africa. Prior to joining ONE, Oulie was Program Director for Freedom House in Mali, where she established a West Africa Office. Her work included contributing to building Transitional Justice and National Reconciliation, advocating for women’s rights and human rights and, access to development finance in a post-conflict environment.
Oulie has a wealth of experience and expertise in international development. In particular, policy and advocacy on women’s empowerment, governance, peace and security and, development in Africa. She has worked for a number of organizations including USAID, ECOWAS, the African Union and the UNDP. Undertaking high-level lobbying of the United Nations Security Council, the World Bank Group, various Heads of State and many more. She is currently on the UN Roster as a Peace and Development Advisor.
Oulie is a PhD Candidate at Reading University. She holds a master’s degree in Non-profit Management from the University of Regis in Denver, USA and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Maryland, USA. She has dual Malian-American citizenship and is bilingual in English and French.
