Kate Critchley is ONE’s Executive Director, Communications and Content, leading ONE’s brand, creative, talent relations, internal and external communications activity, and partnerships..
Before joining ONE, Kate was Communications Director for Girl Effect, which runs innovative behaviour-change programmes for girls and communities in Rwanda, Ethiopia and Nigeria.
Her career in international development began in Zambia where she worked as an adviser to the Ministry of Education on a training programme for rural school teachers. She has since held senior communications roles at Oxfam GB and the UK’s Department for International Development where, as Head of Strategic Communications, she led multi-disciplinary teams to deliver international summits, policy launches and campaigns. Kate’s government experience also includes a secondment to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to establish and lead a new Syria Communications Unit in partnership with Number 10, regional policy teams, the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office.
