Hilary Gumbel

Philanthropist

Hilary Gumbel is an Emmy winning producer with a lengthy history and expertise in cause marketing. In keeping to her commitment of helping others, Hilary has successfully paired philanthropic interests with a variety of media platforms including HBO, NBC, MSNBC and Discovery.

Ms. Gumbel has over 15 years of experience in fundraising and advocacy for UNICEF USA. In that capacity, she has traveled to visit in-country programs to see UNICEF’s work firsthand in Angola, Guatemala, Haiti, Peru, Senegal, Vietnam and Uruguay. In addition to serving on UNICEF’s national Board of Directors since 2012, Hilary has been a staff member – as a senior advisor she helped to formulate the UUSA brand marketing strategy, and celebrity ambassador program.

In 2013, for the benefit of UNICEF, Hilary created the national best-selling cookbook, UniChef: Top Chefs Unite; a first of its kind collaboration that included 50 top celebrity chefs joining forces to help kids. The sale of each cookbook increasing visibility and awareness to UNICEF’s work and 100% of Gumbel’s royalties were donated directly to UNICEF.

During the height of the COVID pandemic, Ms. Gumbel spearheaded a corporate partnership with the Discovery Network to help UNICEF in its ambitious effort to distribute 1 billion COVID-19 vaccines to low, and middle-income countries in calendar year 2021.

Prior to moving to New York in 1999, Hilary worked for several brokerage firms before joining Goldman Sachs where she worked for six years. Ms. Gumbel resides in Manhattan and Florida with her husband, veteran television journalist Bryant Gumbel.
