If you’re in the UK, then you’ve probably heard all the arguments in the last few weeks about whether we should remain in the EU or leave. Now it’s decision time.

At ONE, we’re not going to tell you which way we think you should vote. That’s for you to decide. But we are asking you to use your vote.

Why?

Well, we often say, “we’re not asking for your money, we’re asking for your voice.” That’s because we know your voice can make all the difference. And there is no better way to raise your voice than by exercising your democratic right to vote. Your vote is your voice.

Because people fought and died for the right to vote.

Because people are still fighting for democracy in some countries.

Because just one vote can make all the difference.

Because being a global citizen means being an active citizen.

Because in the voting booth, we are all equal.

We’re all busy, and I know sometimes we think that nothing will ever change and it isn’t worth trying. But when I think of my friend Jo Cox, who was murdered last week, and think of her optimism that we can make the world better if we just get involved, I know there can be no excuse for not using my vote.

I hope you will too. Your vote is your voice, and it can change the world.
