Well, now’s your chance!
Award-winning songwriters and producers, Cobhams Asuquo from Nigeria (producer of our Strong Girl song), David “KING DAVID” Muthami from Kenya and Ellputo from Mozambique have joined forces to create a song that inspires the youth of Africa and lets them know the power they hold.
To make sure the song is authentic, a verse is going to be crowdsourced from the public, and if your lyrics are picked you could win $500 and be credited alongside Cobhams Asuquo and KING DAVID as a fellow songwriter!
The song will be performed by A-list artists from across the African continent in September and will be the first track of its kind for Africa. This collaboration will be a major asset for the Global Goals campaign, which aims to promote the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals around the world.
The 17 Global Goals are a series of ambitious targets to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate change for everyone by 2030. These will be signed by 193 world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly on the 25th September. If the goals are met, they ensure the health, safety and future of the planet for everyone on it.
“Music has the power to change minds and unify people. I’m excited to be adding this truly African song to the Global Goals campaign. The project was something I couldn’t resist getting involved in,” said Cobhams Asuquo.
