Actor Idris Elba told world leaders to take urgent action on Ebola from the Mashable Social Good Summit in New York City this week.
His message is a part of a short crowdsourced film being sent to world leaders at the UN General Assembly. Idris put special emphasis on the Ebola crisis, which has claimed the lives of nearly 2,600 people.
“I want to live in a world where we come together and fight a health crisis together,” he said in a video message to the Social Good Summit audience. “I want to be in a world where we can fight and cure and add solutions for something like Ebola. It’s hugely important that we do it, and it’s hugely important that we do it now.”
“We need [world leaders] to do more than just talk. We need them to act on Ebola – NOW,” he said. “We’re running out of time.”
