Our guest blogger today is Natasa, a ONE member from Belgium.
When a beautiful Brussels park turns red, green and blue, when a great sound fills the air and when people give their voices to fight extreme poverty, we get the perfect match: ONE Campaign and music festivals.
We spent last week in an amazing atmosphere in Park Royal for our second year at the Boterhammen in het Park and Feeërieën festival, organised by Ancienne Belgique. It was really a great feeling to be back there with ONE.
The music is still great, we are still actively campaigning, but what has changed since last year? Well ONE has two million more members and 150 new Youth Ambassadors in Europe. This year Belgian Youth Ambassadors joined the action and enriched it with their amazing motivation.
Our objective, as always, was to persuade people to give their voices and to bring us closer to ending extreme poverty. This is what gives us enthusiasm to keep fighting and to encourage everyone to join us.
During the entire week we were surrounded by many lovely and inspiring people that supported our campaign. Many of them were already familiar with ONE and remembered our previous actions. It was an amazing feeling that will give energy and strength to everything we do in future.
Last week may have been filled with rain and clouds, but also with sounds and colours and most importantly, our strong passion and motivation to fight extreme poverty. Rain can’t stop us when we know that 1.2 billion people around the world are living on less than 1 euro a day and that nearly one in eight people go to bed hungry every night. This is just unacceptable. We can change this by acting with ONE voice.
