What do you get when you gather 8,000 of people from all over the world interested in development in one place? The European Development Days (EDDs)!
For the past 12 years, development professionals from all over the world gather for a two-day conference to come up with new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges – and this year, #ONEYouth18 will be right in the middle of all the action.
The overarching theme of the 2018 EDDs is Women and Girls at the Forefront of Sustainable Development: Protect, Empower, Invest, which is why we will be there to talk about why #PovertyIsSexist and, most importantly, how we can change that.
We’ll have a stand at the conference, with interactive games, like our brand new quiz Can You Spot the Real Sexist Laws?, a photo booth and so much more! We’ll also be hosting live interviews, interesting discussions and debates with Youth Ambassadors, ONE Champions and development experts on Facebook.
The people attending the conference, organised by the European Commission, range from top politicians from Europe and beyond, to NGOs, youth activists and people with an interest in development. The EDDs takes a special interest in promoting young voices, by among other things putting the spotlight on 16 young leaders from all over the world who are taking part to most of the panels and discussions during the two days.
