Millennium Development Goal 6: HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Preventable Diseases
18 August 2014 marks the 500-day milestone until the target date to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), eight goals established by the United Nations and governments around the world to tackle some of the world’s biggest problems.
ONE and (RED) are teaming up on this day to tell the story of MDG 6: the fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria and preventable disease. Join us for two events happening on social media!
On Twitter, we’ll be sharing the most important milestones and progress on MDG6 since 2000, when the MDGs were first created. Retweet incredible success stories and facts from ONE and (RED).

On Facebook, we’re hosting a chat with ONE Global Health Policy Director Erin Hohlfelder. She’ll answer any questions you have about HIV/AIDS, malaria and preventable disease. Ask her about:
- Where we stand in eradicating HIV/AIDS
- What the biggest progress on MDG 6 has been in the past 15 years
- How YOU can help build momentum around preventable disease

We hope you can join us! Check out even more MDG500 events happening around the world.
