Join the fight against extreme poverty

Our friends at Women for Women International are hosting an exciting global campaign called Join me on the Bridge On International Women’s Day (next Monday, March 8), they will be uniting women and men on bridges all over the world to call for peace and development, in solidarity with women in war-torn countries. The conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, for example, has seen over 5 million deaths and hundreds of thousands of rapes.

Here are 3 things you can do to join in:

1. Attend an event. Women for Women International will be holding special events on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York and the Millennium Bridge in London but there are over 70 bridge events happening across the world.

2. Sign the supporter pledge.

3. Share this blog post with your friends on Facebook and Twitter!

Midday on Monday, I’m going to be standing on the Millennium Bridge in London and joining this collective call for peace. I hope you will join me.
