One of the best things about working alongside colleagues from all over the globe (apart from all of the wonderful treats they bring with them when visiting different offices!) is learning about the different cultures, traditions and languages that exist in this big beautiful world.
I must admit that after two and a half years working with ONE I am yet to master a language other than my own – not for my colleagues lack of enthusiasm, but because I have zero natural talent for them. HOWEVER, this doesn’t have to stop me from *looking* like I’ve picked up some language skills along the way…
At this time of year it’s nice to share well wishes and season’s greetings with our fellow citizens, especially after a 2016 that many would admit has been particularly turbulent, so we emailed around our offices and asked them how they’d wish someone season’s greetings in their mother tongues:
French
German
Dutch
Italian
Kirundi, Burundi
Shona, Zimbabwean
Xhosa, South African
Afrikaans
English
