Congratulations to Yaya Toure, Fally Ipupa and Diamond on their MTV Africa Music Awards nominations.

The MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) take place in Durban, South Africa, this year on 7th June after a three year hiatus. Hosted by comedian, writer & director Marlon Wayans, the Awards celebrate musical achievement from across the continent.

Amongst the nominations, are three Do Agric champions, who have been helping ONE get the message out, calling on Africans leaders to invest in agriculture and help lift millions of Africans out of extreme poverty.

Côte d’Ivoire football star Yaya Toure has been nominated for ‘Personality of the Year’.*

Cocoa Na Chocolate’ stars Diamond and Fally Ipupa have been nominated for ‘Best Male’ and ‘Best Live Act’ respectively.* They collaborated with 17 other African music artists, to produce the biggest music video collaboration on the continent in support of the Do Agric campaign.

There’s still time to vote! So get your votes in for Yaya Toure (Personality of the Year), Fally Ipupa (Best Live Act) and Diamond (Best Male).*

But that’s not all. We’d also like to congratulate D’Banj on his World Music Award victory. He was nominated with other Do Agric champions, Fally Ipupa and Femi Kuti. The World Music Awards honour best-selling recording artists from every continent, and D’Banj performed at the event along with artists such as Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus.

Congratulations to Yaya Toure, Diamond and Fally Ipupa on their MAMA nominations and to D’Banj on his World Music Awards victory. We’d like to say a massive thank you for their amazing contributions supporting Do Agric so far!

*Voting has now closed, but make sure you check out the MTV Africa Music Awards show on MTV Base.
