This year we have a unique chance to demand a better world. As world leaders agree a new global plan to end extreme poverty by 2030, we’re calling for them to put girls and women at the heart of it.
Why? Because being born female in one of the world’s poorest countries means your life will be harder, simply because of your gender.
Unlocking the full potential of girls and women wouldn’t just transform their own lives, or even their families – it could help end extreme poverty for good. Because when women rise out of poverty, they take other people with them too.
This weekend we’ll be celebrating International Women’s Day with a host of events taking place across Italy and we’d love you to come and join us!
We’ll officially be launching a new global campaign on Sunday but, with the help of our amazing Youth Ambassadors, we’ll be giving our friends in Italy a preview of what’s coming up this year. You’ll find out how you can do more to stand with girls and women everywhere too.
