A new partnership between Africa and Europe: Who’s committed?

ONE

On 17-18 February, African and European leaders will gather for the AU-EU Summit to discuss a renewed partnership between the two continents. As the world continues to grapple with the spread of COVID-19, new variants, and the economic aftershocks of the crisis, the stakes couldn‘t be higher.

Leaders from both continents owe it to their youngest citizens to address both the pandemic and rising inequality in order to secure their futures. ONE activists across Africa and Europe are therefore calling on their leaders to take action on global vaccine access, youth participation in decision-making, and a fair global economic recovery, which are the foundations of a new partnership.

Former ministers, sitting politicians, and internationally recognised global health experts are amongst those who have endorsed their calls.

Our leaders have the power to make the partnership between Africa and Europe one that is able to fight the huge challenges that young people are facing – from the climate emergency and inequality, to tackling the next pandemic.
