A car wash business launched by SIDAREC (Slums Information Development and Resource Centres) in Kibera slum, Nairobi, was established to promote and consolidate skills existing within slum communities, especially young people. In 2009, SIDAREC won the ONE Africa Award, a grant of $100k.
