Halperin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Morton H. Halperin ist Berater des Open Society Institute und des Open Society Policy Centers. Er arbeitete f\u00fcr die Regierungen der Pr\u00e4sidenten Clinton, Nixon und Johnson, zuletzt als Leiter des politischen Planungsstabes im Au\u00dfenministerium (1998-2001). Er lehrte in Harvard (1960-66) sowie als Gastdozent an mehreren anderen Universit\u00e4ten, darunter Columbia, George Washington und Yale. Er geh\u00f6rt zudem einer Reihe von Think Tanks an, so ist er Co-Vorsitzender der \u201cNew America Foundation\u2019s Nuclear Strategy Working Group\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Halperin arbeitete viele Jahre f\u00fcr die \u201cAmerican Civil Liberties Union \u201c(ACLU). Er war Direktor des \u201cCenter for National Security Studies\u201d (1975 bis 1992), wobei der Schwerpunkt auf Themen lag, die sowohl die b\u00fcrgerlichen Freiheiten und die nationale Sicherheit, aber auch die Rolle der Geheimdienste und der Regierungsgeheimhaltung zum Schwerpunkt hatten, Von 1984 bis 1992 war er auch Direktor des Washingtoner B\u00fcros des ACLU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Halperin war Stipendiat der MacArthur Stiftung (1985 bis 1990) und hat zahlreiche Auszeichnungen erhalten, darunter die \u201cSecretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Medal\u201d, die \u201cWilbur Cross Medal\u201d von der Yale Graduate Alumni Association.
