If your social media feed or city streets were flooded with calls to #EndThePandemic once and for all, then you’re familiar with our Global Week of Action.<\/p>\n

From 15-22 January, ONE, our dedicated Global Activists, and our partners called on leaders of rich countries to finally make 2022 the year they end the pandemic and vaccinate the world.<\/p>\n

Here’s what happened.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Taking over billboards and social media<\/h3>\n

All week long ONE and it’s partners took over billboards in France, London and Berlin, plastered buses, bikes and tuk tuks with banners and posters in Nigeria, Senegal and Kenya, held stunts in ten major cities and reached out to communities in Togo and DRC.<\/p>\n

Our global activists were just as busy this week. During our Global Week of Action, they called on world leaders, campaigned outside the UK Parliament and German Reichstag, met with political leaders in Rome and the Netherlands, spoke to religious leaders in Senegal, called up members of congress, met with Open Society Foundation president Mark Malloch Brown, and even took their work all the way to the Dubai Expo during the Global Goals Week.<\/p>\n

People across the world joined the fight taking more than 71,000 actions including signing up to join ONE! They emailed President Biden, backed a global activist written open letter, pledged their support to vaccine equity, pressured Canadian ministers, sent virtual postcards to EU leaders, and joined our Global Call to Make COVID History.<\/p>\n

Finally, if you happened to see a series of megaphones or #SpotTheBusChallenge take over your social media feeds this week, that was us too! Our global activists and supporters took to social media to show their support for our Global Week of Action by making a megaphone or posting a photo of one of the branded buses in Nigeria, Kenya or Senegal and using the hashtag #EndThePandemic.<\/p>\n

Taking action online and with partners<\/h3>\n

Our efforts, however, weren’t limited to megaphones and billboards. We worked closely with partners like The People’s Vaccine, the Financial Times, The International Chambers of Commerce and Shipping, Save the Children, Global Centre for Health, Global Citizen and many others to make 2022 the year we finally see an end to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

We were also blown away by the work of students from Trinity College Dublin, who organised a week of activity where they lit up the iconic Trinity College red, held a vigil, shared messages online and caught the attention of the Irish Times, U2<\/a> and Dr Tedros from the World Health Organisation.<\/p>\n
