ONE understands that a diverse and inclusive workforce is an asset to any organization. By building a community of people with diverse backgrounds, experience and perspectives, we believe that we are stronger and better equipped to fight for the world we want to see: where people can fulfill their full potential and be part of decisions that affect their lives. The creativity and innovation that comes from diversity of thought and inclusion of perspectives is essential to achieving ONE\u2019s mission. What diversity and inclusion means for ONE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Recognizing and embracing workforce diversity<\/strong> \u2013 creating an inclusive culture for all regardless of race, gender, national or ethnic origin, culture, language, age, religion, sexual orientation, physical ability, political beliefs, as well as any other distinct differences between people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sustaining a welcoming organization<\/strong> \u2013 creating and sustaining an environment enriched with diverse views that provides space and opportunities for staff to bring their whole selves to work. Where all individuals have a voice and are encouraged to contribute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Valuing diversity of perspective<\/strong> \u2013 leveraging the diverse thinking, skills and experience of our employees and other stakeholders. Providing opportunities towards learning, fostering a culture of openmindeness, compassion and inclusiveness among individuals and groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Respecting stakeholder diversity<\/strong> \u2013 ensuring we respect the diverse communities and varied stakeholders with whom we work, including employees, volunteers, members, governments, partners and our Board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Words and exhortations alone will not accomplish these results. Through dedicated energy, effort and learning, deliberate interventions and interactions \u2013 and through a deep and abiding respect for one another \u2013 we can become the diverse and vibrant organization we aspire to be.<\/p>\n
