The new law signals significant progress in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence, and more importantly, offers hope to break down the cultural taboo and stigma in Senegal. But the fight is far from over &#8211; the challenge now is to implement this new law and put in place the necessary measures for it to succeed nationally, regionally and locally.
