Meet the finalists for the ONE Africa Award 2022

News, ONE

Earlier this month, we kicked off our search for the ONE Award 2022 winner with a call to African-lead advocacy organisations. We called on those addressing social development issues through innovative advocacy in promotion of attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and those with the #JobsNowAfrica Campaign to apply to this year’s award.

We asked, and they answered. We received over 500 applications from all across Africa! After reviewing all the applications, we’ve narrowed down to the four finalists.

Learn more about them and vote now.

Elena NGO, Cameroon

Elena is an NGO that started as an informal initiative to design and make dresses and train young girls who have not had the opportunity to have a place in a post-primary educational institution for one reason or another. Elena’s mission is to develop sustainable livelihoods for children, women, and young people through innovative programs. Elena’s vision is to see a world filled with socio-economic justice and respect for the dignity and rights of the rural poor and the underprivileged.

Buni Media, Kenya

Buni Media is a multimedia organization involved in curating content; and capacity building. The organization combines the power of storytelling and the media to advocate for transparency, accountability, participatory governance, freedom of expression, and the growth of an innovative ecosystem.

YES 4 Youth, South Africa

YES4Youth is a business-led collaboration that seeks groundbreaking ways to reignite the economy and give youth a dignified first chance through innovation and technological practices. YES4Youth does this by connecting hiring companies and job seekers in South Africa.

Solidaridad, Kenya

Based in Kenya, Solidaridad is an international civil society organization that works to help farmers in food-producing communities become more resilient. Solidaridad does this by facilitating fair and sustainable supply chains, capacity building through training modules, advocating for inclusive and sustainable policies, and campaigns to encourage the public, companies, and procurement agencies to source and buy sustainable products.
