Necklaces from 31Bits are now available at the ONE Store. We are currently selling one similar to the necklace in the center here.
Unique statement pieces that tell a great story are hard to come by – and oftentimes expensive. That’s why we’re excited to introduce new products by 31Bits, a company that produces unique, affordable jewelry in Uganda.
Their story is just as beautiful as their jewelry. Founded by Kallie Dovel, who started the company after she traveled to Uganda in 2007, 31Bits employs 108 internally displaced women in Northern Uganda and provides them with literacy and educational programs, financial and vocational training, and holistic care – not to mention the benefits that a reliable, steady and fair income provide.
Aciro Joyce is just one of the many women who help make 31Bits such a special company. Living with her seven children in Kirombe, Uganda, she is thrilled that she can afford to send them all to school and is grateful for everyone who supports 31Bits and its work: “Thank you for what you have done and what you are still doing. I am a better woman because of it.”
These three necklaces are available at the ONE Store now. From left to right: Sweet Tart, Molly Moon and Pippa.
Each piece of jewelry is handmade using 100 percent recycled paper and other local materials. 31Bits purchases jewelry from each of their female workers once a month and then sells them internationally on stores like ONE’s online shop.
